Oh Yeah, Did We Mention "The View's" Sherri Shepherd is Engaged? Yuuuup!

According to US Weekly, Sherri's boo of more than a year, TV writer Lamar Sally, proposed in what was reportedly very romantic fashion. He surprised her the day after Christmas when she returned from a San Diego trip with a ring box in her M&M's bowl. But not before a friend helped him string the place with lights, put a Santa hat and beard on her dog, and ask her 5 year old son Jeffrey for permission. This was a surprise to us because on "The View" Sherri acts like she's single and desperate...but we guess that's her shtick.  The couple is planning an August wedding in Chicago.

Word is, wretched Camille Grammer of RHOBH has hired famed attorney, Larry Stein, to get her out of her Bravo contract. Supposedly, the deed is done and this will be her last season. UNLESS, she can use this move to manipulate Bravo into being "nicer" to her in the editing room. That's the other side of it. Some say it's all a game to Camille. She loves being on the show but claims that her character was assassinated in the editing room. Yup, she blames that horrid behavior on editing. Surprised? For us, her scenes are uncomfortable to watch, however, this is the best time to film her with all that's going on with soon-to-be-ex-husband, Kelsey, and his new fiancee. Now, THAT drama would make for interesting fodder! We're interesting in seeing how this plays out. No doubt, this isn't the last we'll hear of Camille.

WATCH: Didn't Think We'd Pass on the Story About the Homeless Man with the Golden Voice, Did Ya? (Video)

What a great story at the start of a so-far fantastic new year! Heart-warming and inspiring, are the best words to describe it. For The Clueless: Ted Williams, a homeless man from Columbus whose "golden voice" landed him a job offer as an announcer (doing voice overs and such) for the Cleveland Cavaliers, and a paid mortgage from Quicken Loans Arena. Brings tears to our eyes. Pop the trunk for the "live" reaction from Cav's announcer, Fred McLeod, and video of Ted prior to his being blessed with his new opportunities, including news reel about how it all came to be. Amazing stuff!

SPOTTED: George Lopez Out on a Dinner Date Post Split with Wife...

George (lookin' like a deer in headlights in top the pic) and his date reportedly had a romantic dinner at Matsuhisu last night. We knew this was coming as soon as we posted the story about George and wife Anne divorcing last September. Nothing wrong with moving on post-divorce but one must be smart about it. (Real Women vs. Hoochies & Groupies!) "The mystery brunette" is very cute (in a daughter-like-way, for him) but we think the "Lopez Tonight" funny-man need not get too serious. "Play the field, George! Play-the-fieldddd!"

Patrons of the Plaza Hotel's Oak Room Nightclub got a real treat last night when Lady Gaga showed up to perform jazz tunes with scheduled entertainer, singer/trumpeter Brian Newman. Pic #2 is a doozy, isn't it? Prior to the gig, she tweeted to her fans: "Looking forward to the gig at the @oakroomny @theplazahotel tonight! First show of 2011!!" No doubt, this was a real coo for the establishment. Staffers also too to Twitter in an excited attempt to draw in more patrons: "Come to the packed @oakroomny @theplazahotel right now to see LADY GAGA — singing, dancing — its amazing!!! Yeah, well, apparently wifey was caught by Arkansas state prison guards givin' her man a hand-job some sexual relief during a prison visit. He has since been sent to a Special Housing Unit for an indefinite amount of time. Clearly, following rules is still a problem for the two of them. Couldn't they have just sat and talked? Geesh!

Here's a quote: "You don't think you're going to see [Russian Prime Minister] Vladimir Putin wearing flip-flops, do you?" O-M-Gee! Really? President Obama grew up in Hawaii, number one. It's natural for him (and every other HUMAN BEING) to dress this way in Hawaii while on vacation! People really need to stop the Obama-bashing. Seriously.

We checked out some "The Game" marathon on BET (which they've been airing in preparation for the January 11th season 4 debut) and noticed some things during the promos for the new season. We realize it's been two years now and the characters have changed but from the looks of it, they may even sacrifice some things... like their fanbase! Smh. After visiting BET's site, we notice they even refer to the new looks as "Hollywood". Sadly, they're in San Diego. We could see if they moved to L.A.. But, being "Hollywood" in San Diego is a big fat #FAIL (So is being "Hollywood" in Hollywood, but that's another post!). More in the trunk...

Rapper Gucci Mane Arrested AGAIN, Sent to Mental Facility for Evaluation...

We don't usually report about Gucci Mane's legal woes (there are so many!) but this is so ridiculous, we just had to share. So, apparently, a warrant was out for his arrest for a parole violation. Welp, he was eventually arrested, and when he faced the judge, he claimed to NOT be mentally capable to fight the parole violation accusations. This led the judge to order a psych evaluation, so he has since been hustled off to a mental facility to see what's what. For his sake, we hope they find him to be crazy. (We would! Have you heard him speak?! Smh) On another note: His co-hort, Waka Flocka Flame has turned himself into authorities after an arrest warrant was issued. In December, a raid on his home discovered guns and drugs. Now he's facing weapons charges. Oh, and incidentally, Gucci (discussed above) happened to be a Waka's house when the raid jumped off but Waka was nowhere to be found. *sighhhh* We may, or may not update you as the story develops. Sorry, but sometimes we just can't. Oh, and Debra Antney, Waka's mom who manages both of these dudes (and is former manager to Nicki Minaj), is said to also be in talks to represent Li'l Kim while also negotiating a 7 figure deal for her. Hmpf! Won't that be somethin'?

Master P's Daughter, Cymphonique, Lands Nickelodian Show...

The show, called "How to Rock Braces and Glasses", follows the life of Kacey (played by Cymphonique) who was popular in school until she gets braces, and also has to wear glasses. Sounds like a fun show. And, she's too cute, isn't she? (Even despite that horrific name!) Dad, Percy Miller aka Master P, sure knows how to keep the family hustle going! You may recall, son, Romeo, had his own Nickelodian show too. Cha-ching!

Former San Fran DA Kamala Harris Sworn in as California's 1st African American State Attorney General...

Yep! The swearing-in took place yesterday at the California Museum for History, Women & the Arts in Los Angeles. Amidst the hoopla of Governor Jerry Brown's Inauguration, Harris' swearing-in went under the radar. The post wasn't an easy one for her to win. In fact, the ballot counts went on well beyond last November's election week due to the close-running between her and running-mate L.A.'s District Attorney Steve Cooley.  It was an ugly fight with contested ballots and mud-slinging but Kamala Harris won it, fair and square. She's the first African-American and first Indian-American State Attorney General in California’s history. Props to her! Yes, MAJOR Congrats!

R.I.P. Chiquita Mitchum-Simms, Celebrity Publicist...(Video)

We've seen some of her tweets on Twitter (@goddessofPR) but didn't know much about her until now. The celebrity publicist was admitted to the hospital on Christmas eve, where she died of a brain aneurysm. She would have been 40 years old this year. Our condolences go out to her family and friends. She was clearly a force while she was alive. Read more about Chiquita's interesting life at the Source. May she rest in peace.

Dr. Conrad Murray Faces the Judge Today. Trial, or no trial? THAT is the Question.

Dr. Conrad Murray will report to court for the beginnings of a preliminary hearing today. And, an important hearing it is. It will be in-depth (with witnesses and all) and said to possibly last two weeks. From the information gathered, the judge will decide whether, or not, Dr. Murray's case will go to trial for manslaughter charges brought against him for Michael Jackson's June 2009 death. Tsk tsk tsk, what a tangled web! Dr. Murray's life will never be the same, even if he's cleared. Prior to Michael's death, he brought in $150,000 a month as MJ's personal physician. Now, he faces losing his medical license and spending 4 years in jail if found responsible for giving Jackson a lethal dose of Propofol. His lawyers are trying to prove that Michael injected himself. Yeah, good luck with that!

The video, though it's already gone viral" is not the best quality, as it was obviously shot with a cell phone in the club. However, the longer you listen the better it gets. The auto-tune heavy song doesn't sound bad at all. No doubt Kim has a hit on her hands. Hell, everything the girl touches damn near turns to gold. Damn near.

Scenario: Woman Steals Your Husband then You Marry Hers? Yep! That's Shania Twain's Story!

This is the wife-swap of the millenium! We'd been hearing about this story for quite some time now: In 2008, Shania Twain's husband of 14 years left her for her then best friend, Marie-Anne Thiebaud but the story didn't end there. Shania was left heartbroken but soon found solace in Marie-Anne's husband, Frederic, also left high and dry by his spouse's betrayal. In 2009, Shania posted about her new relationship with Frederic on her website: "We leaned on one another through the ups and downs, taking turns holding each other up. We've become stronger and closer through it all". We thought it odd that the two would bond so strongly and figured it would fizzle out over time.  But, man, were we wrong! The couple got married in a private ceremony in Costa Rica at Sunset in front of about 40 close friends and family. And, good for them! Hopefully, they will grow old together and prove that their cheating spouses did them a favor! #lovewins

This ish is straight out of an episode of the Twilight Zone, for real! What "trauma" could have caused the death of nearly 2,000 birds (CNN says "more than 1000", Fox says "nearly 2,000")?? Several of the birds have been collected and are being sent for testing today. We're REALLY curious about this! We'll keep ya posted... *grabs Bible* *UPDATE* Now the number is 5,000 AND there are also hundreds of thousands of dead fish! In the same Arkansas town. Eeek! CA Watch: Califronia Governor-Elect Jerry Brown to be Sworn in Today-- Again...

Yup. Jerry Brown takes his oath of office today, for his third term as Governor of California. (He first served from 1975 to 1983 — into decisive action on the state's fiscal crisis.)  The first 100-days is what will determine (the honeymoon period) will set the tone for his tenure, so we'll have our eyes and ears open with regards to his agenda. We are THRILLED, though, that we are FINALLY rid of you-know-who. Yaayyy! Happy New Year!
