As you may or may not know (we didn't report it), DMX is in jail--again. For the 13th time, as a matter of fact. This time is unique because the judge has determined that DMX is bipolar and has relocated him from the jail to the mental health unit. We feel like this is a step in the right direction for the troubled rapper. Maybe he'll finally get the treatment he needs. Wouldn't it be great if he could get back to the music? We think so!

President Obama Gives Eagles Owner A Call Regarding Michael Vick...

Yuup, per NBC Sports online, Peter King of NBC reports that "during Football Night in America that President Barack Obama recently called Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie to congratulate the team for giving quarterback Mike Vick a second chance." The site's comments are filled with Obama-hate but we applaud the President for staying in tune with what's going on out here on "the streets".  The fact that a black man went to prison for abusing dogs and is now back on the field making touchdowns is a true American dream, don't you think? Why shouldn't the POTUS give his thumbs up? (Take that however you wish)

Jay-Z & Beyonce's Very Merry Christmas...

So, according to the NY Post, Jay Z was reportedly a very busy man over the days leading up to Christmas. His Australian concert tour with U2 has ended, so he's back in NY spending his hard-earned cash. Yep! He and longtime friend and colleague Steve Stout were spotted at Hermes on Madison Avenue where jay is said to have spent $350k on Birken bags and other items for the wifey. Word is, he spent so much time shopping in the store that he missed his scheduled lunch at Nello. But no worries, the chef came right over to deliver his meal in person. Check him out in photo #1 sipping on champagne with Jay and Steve. Cool, right?Anyhoo, Jay will make that money right back-- and, then some; he's getting $1 million to perform at the opening of the Cosmopolitan hotel and casino in Vegas on New Year's Eve with buddy Chris Martin of Cold Play. And, in case you're getting any bright ideas, don't. It's invite only. :(

Singer Teena Marie Found Dead...(Video)

We are sad to report that R&B singer Teena Marie (born Mary Christine Brockert) passed away of yet unknown causes on Christmas night. She reportedly discovered in her Los Angeles home by her daughter Alia Rose who sings under the name Rose Le Beau. Reportedly, Teena died in her sleep but details are not readily available. Teena was signed to Motown at age 19 and was a prominent singer and songwriter best known for her collaboration on Fire & Desire with Rick James and first solo album Lover Girl (she recorded 13 during her career). She was only 54 years old at the time of her death. We will bring details as soon as they're released. We're praying it's nothing scandalous. R.I.P. Teena Marie ~ *UPDATE* News reports say it was "natural causes". That's strange for 54 years old, but okay.

We've known about the hoopla surrounding Nike's Air Jordans for years but it's not our thing so we've never paid much mind to it...until now. The new "Space Jam" Air Jordans (Retro 11's "Cool Greys") hit stores Thursday night, and people are not only lined up for 'em but they were fightin' each other too. These are said to be the most anticipated pair of Jordans in a long while. The original "Cool Greys" were released in 2001 @ $125 per pair. If you want to cop the new ones they'll run you a steep $175. Yep, Jordans are officially recession-proof! The above surveillance video is at the Arden Fair Mall in Sacramento, CA where more than 500 people lined up for the midnight release on Thursday, December 23rd. Reportedly, a fight broke out between some of the unlucky ones who couldn't get their hands on a pair. Many retailers are said to already be sold out. (Skip to the 2:00 mark for a better idea of the madness.) And, the fun didn't just happen here. Reportedly, riots have broken out in many other major cities. This mentality is one we just don't get. How much you wanna bet a lot of these folks don't even have jobs? Damn Shame!

Especially, during this time of year when so many people who are without are REALLY feeling down due to the economy. Hopefully, he is also teaching him to give to those who are less fortunate. Rapper Wale Goes OFF On A Couple Of DJ's After Being Dissed On Their Station. Take A Listen...(Warning, Explicit Language)

Wale went BALLISTIC on Baltimore Dj's Porkchop & Squirrel Wide (yeah, you read that right) on 92Q after playing Baltimore rapper Bossman's song, "Nail in the Coffin" and his version of "No Hands", which disses Wale. Bossman also stated on-air that Wale was going to get beat up at his next performance. Wale's beef with the Dj's seems to be that they allowed and even egged on Bossman's disrespectful behavior. And, good for him (yeah, we said it). Some of these Dj's get too big for their britches and need to be put in their places. So, yeah. Props to Wale!
