It's no secret that rapper T.I. was recently released from jail on weapons charges, and he's been totally on his grind ever since. Reportedly, T.I. is writing a book, number 1. You see the older gentleman wearing the pencil shirt in pic #1? He's David Ritz, the author behind such autobiographies as Smokey Robinson, Aretha Franklin, Etta James and Ray Charles. T.I. seems kind of young for that, but okay. Pic #2 is said to be the results of T.I. inking a deal with Remy Martin to develop his own cognac line.
And, pic #3 (above) is his newest CD cover. Four singles have been released from the upcoming album entitled, "King Uncaged". Ohhh-- and let's not forget the clothing line. Though, we're fans of his music we wonder if his jail time boosted his popularity. Doesn't send the best message... or, does it? More pics of "The King of the South" including a couple with his fam below.

sick of Anybody who does time for a gun charge or violent action and then profits on the celebrity dime... what a waste- kids sayin- hey if he can do that and look he's famous - then I can have a gun and be famous too-
ReplyDeleteFirst Anonymous..T.I. was making money before the gun charges ~though I am not excusing it~ check the histony of rappers...most have had a crime against them before and after the fame!!!!
ReplyDeleteIn hollywood today..the bad you do, the gooder it get....as Robert Downey Jr....Holla
I get that TI was hot and rich before the gun charges... and many have been put behind bars undeserving or maybe too young.... but it is an issue with "role models" to have the celebrity scale go higher if not deserved but due to bad ass rep-
ReplyDeleteRob Downey Jr. was a druggy- f up and almost done- got straight and AA and is doing better- booze and drugs- can be illness- gun play and that type of stuff- not- just sayin.....
DEAR SWEET ANONYMOUS: WHO SAID ANYTHING ABOUT ~ROLE MODEL~ T.I. is just a guy that made it out of the ghetto using slick words that you can dance to!! Barack Obama is a "Role Model"
ReplyDeleteYes,Barack Obama is a "Role Model"- a REAL role model for all to aspirer to .... However, you are not going to tell me that those in the music industry, sports world etc - are not considered- Mistaken so... but still looked up to and copied by kids. There has been history for that and it may not be the intent of the artist to be in that position- but by becoming famous, rich and someone from like circumstances- it is hard for someone in the same position not to think - well if they did it that way... and he made it- what is the big deal- i can do that too-
ReplyDeleteWe wish it wasn't the way- but not everyone has the ability to step back and see stuff for what it is- noting more nothing less- but all people from all places fall into that trap sometimes for finding something to justify why they do what they do-
I'm just sayin' don't glorify actions of illegal guns, use or whatever to then land contracts for films, records, books etc- and i don't care who- from Bernie Maddoff, Dick Cheney to whom ever.....
HERE I COME ANONYMOUS, I WAS JUST PAUSIN' I FEEL WHAT YOU'RE SAYING, BUT T.I. IS A HUMAN BEING AND YOU MINUS WELL CLOSE YOUR EYES, BECAUSE THE WORST YOU DO IN HOLLYWOOD, THE BETTER YOU GET!!! ALSO HE WAS IN A MOVIE WITH DENZEL WASHINGTON BEFORE ALL THIS CAME ABOUT. HE PRODUCE A MOVIE BEFORE ALL THIS CAME ABOUT. HE HAD A CLOTHING LINE BEFORE ALL THIS CAME ABOUT!! HE WAS ALREADY GLORIFY WHEN ALL OF THIS CAME ABOUT..YOU DON'T HAVE WORRY ABOUT A RAPPER WITH A ILLEGAL GUN..IT'S ALL ABOUT THE DOLLAR DOLLAR BILL IN THE WOOD...Y'ALL HEAR ME..
ReplyDeleteOK - here is the deal.... TI has been the specific subject of our discussion- HOWEVER, there is NO denying... Hollywood, Music Politics etc.... Have glamorized "behavior" and "actions" that have been "taught " to us that are illegal or morally wrong. Whether the subject is a person of color, or privileged by wealth or standing in society ( think Cheney, Bush, Elliot Spizer or Sean "puffy- puff daddy or what ever he wishes to be called this month- ha- all should be held to the same standards and held accountable. This is the dicussion i was focusing on- Not so much specifically TI- If in fact he had all of these things going for him.....why the need for the guns in the first place and maybe that in its self is another question- But he did his time- Cheney, Bush and the BP sh*ts- they are being left alone and that is worse-
ReplyDeleteWhat would be a Role Model action by TI ( and lets face it- By being famous or celebrity in this country- makes you a role model whether asked for it or not - talk with Charles Barkley on that- then use this time to talk to kids for real about the mistakes made and show them the way- I'm just sayin-
