Oh, what a tangled web the USC athletics department has weaved. Here's the scoop: UCS's athletic program is in hot water with the NCAA after a four year investigation determined that athlete alumn accepted expensive gifts (homes, cars, etc.) and large sums of cash (from outsiders hoping to represent the athletes in their pro endeavors), which is totally against the rules.
As a consequence the NCAA has imposed severe sanctions on USC's athletic program, a 2 year bowl game suspension and scholarship reductions being among them. Part of USC's answer is to disassociate themselves from a couple of those high profile players-- one of them being New Orleans Saints' star, Reggie Bush. They've announced that they are returning Reggie's 2005 Heisman trophy and taking down his jerseys and mural from the halls where they are profiled in glass cases. Damn!
Meanwhile,Reggie maintains that he's done nothing wrong. And, he's keeping his Heisman as far as we know. Oh-- and they've also replaced Athletic Director of 17 years Mike Garrett. Okay my thing is, everybody if you don't know here it is...All Star College Players get paid $$$$...All college's know that their "Star Players" get paid..You don't believe yet..okay Lebron was driving a "Hummer" in high school!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's F'd up that they want to put all of this on Reggie's shoulders. It's documented that he was just a small piece of the decade long pie when it came to the pay to play in college ball. USC needs to take responsibility and stop pointing fingers.
ReplyDeleteOf Course don't take responsibility.... why would anyone expect the wrongdoers to do that- Instead just point to one and say -Its him- B*****S*it. As Allen said- this has been going on since the beginning of college sports- so this is that they got caught- boo hoo
