We know we're late on this one and weren't going to bother with it AT ALL until we came across an article on Clutchmagonline.com titled, "Why Are We Mad At Baracka Wacka Flame?" We can't stand that (illiterate) rapper Waka Flocka (sorry!), so when we initially saw the buzz around the video we passed. Yea, we pretty much pass on Waka Flocka all day. But the article made us curious enough to watch and guess what? It made us laugh-- hard! And, we don't play that ish when it comes to President Obama!
The article concluded that the video embodies the three things which make a parody work: 1) Make the object of imitation or ridicule obvious 2) Expose raw nerve 3) Be rooted in truth and they state that video nailed all three. They also confirm our opinion that comedian James Davis's impression is one for the books. The video brings together the two extremes of both worlds; privilege and poverty. And, the privileged, in this case, are the President and First Lady of the U.S. who are responsible for the well being of all these hoodrats. The irony!
And, And, notice, "Barack" and "Michelle" only came to chill for a few before getting back in the limo to presumably to resume their presidential and first wife duties. What would have made it even better, we think, would have been to see Barack transform back into that proper English speaking no nonsense President that we know him to be. Maybe with a phone call at the end with one of his advisers-- or even Biden, or Hilary on the end of the line. Either way it goes, the parody is hilarious...genius even. In fact, we're gonna watch it again. Join us?
