Also, she seem more self-assured and confident than usual. Maybe the kiddies put her at ease? Like a Lioness amongst her cubs, yeah? Or, maybe she's finally coming into her own? JANET PERFORMED ON AMERICAN IDOL'S FINALE, GOT "NASTY"...(VIDEO)

"Gimme' a beat!" Loved it! Janet sported her newly cropped hair-do on American Idol's finale last night. She sang "Nothing", "Nasty" and "Again" in true Janet form. Surprised guest we think? We had seen new hair chopped and cropped hairstyle already (scroll down blog) but she looked good, yea? Overall she had a very Anna of "V" look...very alien-esque. Seeing a lot of that lately, what is that? She sounded good too (though we had a few cringe moments not knowing how she would come out her notes). But she's Janet Jackson. And because she's Janet and she's true to Janet she will always win.
