Okay, we know we're a day late on this but Yayyy! USA beat Algeria yesterday in a Group C preliminary match held in Pretoria, South Africa. Apparently the 1-0 win only took 12 seconds?? We don't really follow "futball" but this is what was reported via our source. Next, it's the U.S. against Ghana next Saturday at the Royal Bafoking Stadium in Rustenburg. These dude. Surely you're already up to speed on Joran van der Sloot's arrest for the murder of Peruvian student, Stephanie Flores Ramirez.  Van der Sloot was caught on camera with Ms. Ramirez both leaving the casino (where they met) and entering his hotel room. The floor was soaked with blood and her brutalized body was found wrapped in a blanket on the floor in his room. He was caught trying to leave the city in a cab. The physical evidence is stacked against him and after one night of interrogation by Interpol, he confessed to the murder. Now, he says he "was tricked" and wants to recant. Really? Here we go again. Drake's first week album sales are in and guess what, Ya'll? 462, 989 SOLD! Yup, that's what "Thank Me Later" pulled in this week. Given that most of the album was leaked prior to its release, the free downloads could very well be why he didn't at least surpass the 500k mark. Check out the latest in pin-up calendars, where an X-ray'd model poses n nothing but her high-heels. It's a 12 month calendar made for a company called EIZO, which makes medical imaging high precision displays for the examination and diagnosis of radiographs. The ad company that created the idea for the calendar is Butter Advertising agency, which takes bony models to a whole new level. It is not clear what the message is, if there is one, but it's a new way for those in the medical field to be able to embrace such "artwork" with relevance to the work at hand. [Inventor Spot]

South African Doctor Sonnet Ehlers has invented a female condom with teeth called Rape-aXe as a way to catch rapists, and she handed them out at the World Cup events held in various South African cities. Apparently, South Africa has one of the highest percentages of rape. If you watch the video above, they state that once the penis is trapped by the condom (which is more like a device) he can remove himself from the woman but not the condom. And, if he tries to remove it, it will only get tighter. Ouch! Yup, only a doctor can remove it once it's attached. It's said to hurt but it doesn't break the skin, or cause fluid leakage. First of all, let us just say that this blog is not one dedicated to bashing folks (We go to other blogs for that, teehee. Shout out to LynnNChicago!) but this biyash has worked our every nerve, and then some, since her very first appearance on Real Housewives of NYC. Seriously. She has done nothing but antagonize Bethenny Frankel from the start, beginning with the infamous charity meeting where she stepped out of line causing Bethenny to snap, "Who does she think she is, Madonna?" (We still love that one!)

That Madonna comment obviously set Kelly into a mental frenzy and prompted her "how can I get Bethenny back for embarrassing me on TV?" campaign. We say this because after that happened it seemed her mission has been to discredit and well, just plain destroy Bethenny. But who would take a snarky comment, a joke, this far? ....  Right! Mostly it was recap clips from the show's previous episodes: Jennifer's troubling marriage to ex NBA baller Eric Williams, Evelyn's thirsty love life and her beef with Vanessa "the internet stalker" Davis, Suzie's tell it like it is moments, the ladie's initial mistrust of Royce, and Shaunie (and everyone else) verses Gloria. Jamaican born model Renee Thompson (pic'd above) is desperate to get into NY's Fall Fashion Week this year and the cameras follow her on her journey. In this 16 minute documentary, African American director Elizabeth St. Phillips spotlights the issue of "institutionalized racism" in the modeling industry. She gives us a behind the scenes glimpse during which you will hear Renee and other industry insiders discuss the challenges faced by ethnic, specifically, African American models when seeking work in the biz. 

"The modeling industry is stuck in 1955 when it comes to diversity" and "The designers look for black girls who look like white girls dipped in chocolate" (a trait Renee is said to fit) are some of the phrases that come to mind when reflecting on the challenges that are spotlighted. And, it's interesting that "racism" is a term used by some, but other insiders are convinced that "it is what it is" without citing racism as the core issue. TROJAN CONDOM USERS BEWARE: COUNTERFEIT CONDOMS ARE DANGEROUSLY FLAWED...

 Be careful from whom and where you buy your condoms 'cause there are counterfeit imports from China which may look like the real thing but won't protect you the same. According to the New York Times, a smuggling ring has made millions from Chinese imported products such as designer bags and clothes, but the Feds also uncovered a stash of about half a million Trojan condoms, which is scary after learning they do not contain spermicide and have failed water leakage tests.
