NICOLE PAULTRE BELL (FIANCEE' OF SLAIN NYPD SHOOTING VICTIM, SEAN BELL) RUNS FOR OFFICE...

Nicole Paultre Bell has reportedly gained the necessary 899 signatures (she actually says she's surpassed the count requirement) for her eligibility to run for the 26th Council District, which includes the Queens neighborhoods of Jamaica and Richmond Hill. The seat is open due to Councilman Thomas White, Jr.'s death in August.

Nicole currently resides in Far Rockaway, NY with her dad who helps with her two girls, Jada, 7, and Jordyn, 4. (who were awarded 3.25 million in a civil liable suit settlement with the city of NY).  She is said, though, to be in the process of moving into the district. It's another part to the candidacy requirement.  She is pictured here with Joseph Guzman who was injured in the police attack in which Sean Bell was murdered (slain in a barrage of more than 50 bullets).

Nicole ( who legally took Sean's last name Bell after his murder in the wee hours of their planned 2006 wedding) has the support of  residents, along with public figures such as Reverend Al Sharpton and Congressman Gregory Meeks. But not everyone has her back. Her competition aren't holding their tongues about her lack of experience and that name recognition is a factor in her popularity.

Jessica "Beat a Bish Down for a Cab" White was spotted out at Prime KO in NYC last night. About that "beatdown" incident, her attorney told the press: "Jessica was out with a bunch of friends celebrating her new single status. She just ended her relationship with Sean Penn and was celebrating." And, added: "Stories concerning celebrities frequently get blown up and I am confident that when the air is released from this blown up story that has obviously been over inflated, all that will be left will be hot air with no substance." Created by Alicia Keys, the charity reportedly benefits not only children living with HIV/Aids but to provide nutrition, shelter, education and basic needs worldwide.
