Nicole Paultre Bell has reportedly gained the necessary 899 signatures (she actually says she's surpassed the count requirement) for her eligibility to run for the 26th Council District, which includes the Queens neighborhoods of Jamaica and Richmond Hill. The seat is open due to Councilman Thomas White, Jr.'s death in August. |
Nicole currently resides in Far Rockaway, NY with her dad who helps with her two girls, Jada, 7, and Jordyn, 4. (who were awarded 3.25 million in a civil liable suit settlement with the city of NY). She is said, though, to be in the process of moving into the district. It's another part to the candidacy requirement. She is pictured here with Joseph Guzman who was injured in the police attack in which Sean Bell was murdered (slain in a barrage of more than 50 bullets). |
Nicole ( who legally took Sean's last name Bell after his murder in the wee hours of their planned 2006 wedding) has the support of residents, along with public figures such as Reverend Al Sharpton and Congressman Gregory Meeks. But not everyone has her back. Her competition aren't holding their tongues about her lack of experience and that name recognition is a factor in her popularity. |
R.I.P. Sean Bell~ And, may God Bless all of Nicole Paultre Bell's Well Intentioned Endeavors. |
Shit She's a Black Woman in Amerikkka..that's all experience she needs... "YEA I SAID"
ReplyDeleteYEA I FORGOT THE {IT} SO WHAT LOL
ReplyDeleteYou are right Reality Check! She knows that something needs to change and is willing to make the effort. That is commendable. As a Black woman in Amerikkka I should be doing more too. She is an inspiratation.
ReplyDeleteI think this woman should be supported in her goal. She has had such tragedy and she could have decided to turn her back on everything, use the judgement cash award and not be involved... instead she is putting her self out there- wanting to make a difference. She knows that there will be the voices taking crap about whatever they can... yet she is willing to go out there and do- my hat off to her and i wish her well.
