AZ IMMIGRATION LAW PROTESTERS TARGET STAPLES CENTER-- BEFORE PLAYOFF OPENER -- IN RESPONSE TO PHIL JACKSON'S REMARKS

Our beloved Lakers Coach, Phil Jackson, stuck his foot in his mouth during a recent press conference when asked about the Phoenix Suns peacefully protesting the AZ immigration law 1070 by wearing Los Suns jerseys. “Am I crazy, or am I the only one that heard [the legislature] say ‘we just took the United States immigration law and adapted it to our state," Jackson said. (You can read the rest of his comments after the jump.) As a result, L.A. resident activists protesting the law are up in arms taking their fight to the steps of the Staples Center right before Western Conference Finals playoff opener between the Lakers and the Suns.

This is not what WE Laker fans need during the playoffs, sorry. Los Angeles, the city, has taken a united stand against the AZ immigration law (1070), which has stirred controversy because its enforcement gives allowances for racial profiling-- what more is needed.? Politics have no business in organized sports. That's our opinion and we're standing by it!
