FOOD FOR THOUGHT: KELLOGG CEREAL RECALL, THEY SAY IT'S TAINTED...

Say it isn't soooo! They've announced a Kellogg cereal recall of about 28 million boxes in late June.  Cereals like Raisin Bran, Frosted Flakes, Corn Pops, Apple Jacks and Honey Smacks are on the hit list. Seems there was an extra waxy build up and a "metal", "soap" and a "stale" taste to the cereal from the methyl naphthalene--identified in elevated levels of chemicals called hydrocarbons as the source. That's what they use in the wax lining that protects the food.

Reportedly, the there were about 20 complaints of nausea and vomiting but no deaths. So far.  They say the concentrations in the food packaging were normally much lower. What happened here??? *fiercely looking up methyl naphthalene& chemicals called hydrocarbon* [Huffington Post]

  1. Those cereals are bad for you anyway. They rot your teeth and make you fat! Don't buy them and don't eat them!

  2. Ok Anonymous, calm it down. Are you meaning to say people should not ever eat cereal like Raisin Bran, Mini Wheats, Kelloggs Corn Flake with banana slices. It's not all THAT bad. Remember, everything in moderation.
