CBS NEWS VET HAROLD DOW DIES AT 62...

Harold Dow died unexpectedly today, Saturday, at the age of 62. Before many of us were born Harold Dow was reporting the news. In 1968, he was the first Black reporter in Omaha, Nebraska. The two men who hired him received death threats because of it. If you ever watched the news show, 48 Hours, then you know Harold. He had been on board since its 1988 debut. He was a well respected award-winning television journalist who was afforded a nice, steady career, which included many exclusives such as; Patty Hearst's kidnapping, the OJ Simpson post trial interview, and the 911 attacks, where he is said to have narrowly escaped death. We're interested to know how he died, especially since CBS has not released a statement as to "cause of death". Hopefully, it has nothing to do with prostitutes, drugs, gambling, and such. To watch one of his more recent pieces, see the video below where he links Medgar Evans life and death to the path to presidency for Barack Obama. It's a very touching and meaningful clip. Please take the time... R.I.P. Harold Dow.

  2. Thank you for the the footage of the reporting he did. I have enjoyed his style and presense for most of his career and i always looked to him for the real deal- he had grace in all of the stories he did and was a strong reporter with ethics.
    Thank you
