L.A. WATCH: PRESIDENT OBAMA'S TRIP TO L.A. IS A WRAP AND COMMUTERS ARE THRILLED...

President Obama arrived in L.A. yesterday afternoon at about 3:30PM and at 8:45 this morning, he's outta here. He spoke at a fundraiser in Hancock Park at the home of producer John Wells ("ER", "West Wing", "Southland") where he talked jobs and clean energy. A cool mill was raised for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (elections are in November) by couples such as the Katzenbergs, the Spielbergs, and Mr. & Mrs. Barbara Streisand who paid more than $30k for the $2,500 per plate tickets (but did not attend).

But, for the average citizen, what stood out more about his trip was how badly he mangled traffic when in route to the west side. It was during rush hour and people were pissed. Not only drivers but pedestrians too. One lady was stopped from crossing Olympic Blvd. while out walking her dog. She commented the L.A. Times website, expressing her anger at Obama for keeping her from her family. Traffic was at a complete standstill for quite a while.

This didn't stop the protesters though. Immigration rights supporters staged a demonstration dressed as characters from the Wizard of Oz, and desperate job-seekers stood outside with "we need jobs" signs. Yea, the haters were out in full force too. But, that's not surprising, is it? Well, he's leaving now, off to continue his cross country fund raising tour. Go in peace, President Obama. May the force be with you. [L.A. Times]
