Several streets in Downtown Los Angeles will be closed Saturday afternoon for the Amgen Tour of California bicycle race time trials.
The event begins at L.A. Live downtown and runs south to Exposition Park, then back uptown, eventually curving around City Hall before returning to L.A. Live.

Cyclists will make two circuits, for a total of 20.9 miles. The event is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and will last roughly until 5 p.m.

The tour has been distracted this year by a dispute between racing legend Lance Armstrong and Floyd Landis, who won the inaugural Tour of California as well as the Tour de France, both in 2006. Landis was later stripped of his Tour de France title after failing a drug test.
After denying he used performance-enhancing drugs for years, Landis, who did not participate in the tour, this week acknowledged he had used them, and claimed that Armstrong did as well.
