PENTAGON BACKED SCIENTISTS PREVIEW PROTOTYPE OF THE WHAT'S NEXT IN MILITARY PLANES, BOATS AND AUTOMOBILES... (VIDEO)

Okay, well not really but it sounded good when we first read it on Gawker.  LoL!  Actually, the self folding shape-shifting oragami-like programmable matter is made of paper and imbedded with actuaction. Supposedly (we can't tell from the video) it moves on command and is autonomous in movement. It is rightly  named "programmable matter by folding", agreed? And, based on the article's authors only identifying themselves with initials" and the Author Affilliations" being who/what they are (listed below), Gawker, and its video source, might not have been too far off base.

  1. aSchool of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA 02138;

  2. bComputer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA 02139; and

  3. cDepartment of Mechanical Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA 02139
Hmmm. Looks kind of serious to us. But, then again, who the heck are we???
