President Obama, joined by wife and First Lady Michelle Obama, honored the best in entertainment and arts at the 33rd Annual Kennedy Center Honors at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. last night.

Of those honored were Oprah Winfrey, Merle Haggard, Jerry Herman, Bill T. Jones, and Paul McCartney. President Obama said that Merle, Jerry, Bill, Paul and Oprah are being “celebrated for their ability to bring people together.” And further explained that each and every one of them has “given the nation the extraordinary gift of the arts.”

Other attendees for the evening festivities included Gwen Stefani, Kid Rock, Sheryl Crow, Jennifer Hudson, Claire Danes, Miranda Lambert, Matthew Morrison, Steven Tyler, Alec Baldwin and John Lithgow.

Don't Oprah and Stedman look simply royal? Good times.
