NEW FEMALE CONDOM "WITH TEETH "ACTS AS ANTI RAPE DEVICE ... (VIDEO)

South African Doctor Sonnet Ehlers has invented a female condom with teeth called Rape-aXe as a way to catch rapists, and she handed them out at the World Cup events held in various South African cities. Apparently, South Africa has one of the highest percentages of rape. If you watch the video above, they state that once the penis is trapped by the condom (which is more like a device) he can remove himself from the woman but not the condom. And, if he tries to remove it, it will only get tighter. Ouch! Yup, only a doctor can remove it once it's attached. It's said to hurt but it doesn't break the skin, or cause fluid leakage. It's inserted like a tampon...jagged hook-like teeth line the inside. She says she consulted with engineers, gynecologists and psychologists, to ensure safety. It took Dr. Ehlers twenty years to create from idea to creation. And, she sold her house in order to launch the project. Under supervision, she plans to distribute 30, 000 free condoms/devices during the World Cup Series. Admittedly, it doesn't prevent rape but will surely catch a rapist...in the act, and make him reconsider what he's doing real fast. Hopefully word will get out and rapes will eventually diminish.

We feel it's a great idea, especially in a country rabid with rapists. Our only issue is if this condom device should be used as a way to punish men as revenge, for example in the case of a scorned woman. How hard would it be to lure a guy into sticking his unknowing penis into the contraption with a willing participant? Oooh, not pretty. This can be scary for men, especially here in the U.S.. An angry wife who discovers her husband has been cheating? What about that? Just something to think about. Hey, maybe it will make men stop being so slimy. Hmmm... [CNN]

  2. Rape is rampent in South Africa and if a women from age 11 up is wearing this- then she may have a chance to not experience this violient act. There is a need and it took this Dr. 20 years to make it happen. I applaud her and support this process. As to whether it will be used for the "wrong purpose", let's just get it out there for the good of womankind and then see if we are as evil as men think. I believe we are not that vicious and the purpose of this tool will be held for the reason it was invented.

  4. @Allen The freakiest freak in the bunch couldn't possibly get off on this. This is serious serious pain, which can't be controlled once it's locked in.

  5. @Anonymous The reason the story was posted was to bring light to the situation in South Africa and the measures being taken to put a big fat foot on the rape epidemic.

Please don't mistake snarky for uninformed, or uncaring. Our (team Blaze Adams) lives in L.A. lend no reason for us to have to strap one of these on everyday before leaving the house, or even sleeping with one. It's not something we worry about to the point of wearing armor. Not yet, at least.

The comment about scorned wives getting revenge on their cheating husbands with a device like this is not far fetched. Tiger, Jesse James, John Edwards (the list goes on) are a tiny sampling representative of a much larger percentage of the U.S. male population. Women WILL go there. Trust.

It will be interesting to see the stats in South Africa given some time after the launch. It's definitely on the radar-- and we're sooo rootng for it.
