WHERE ARE ALL OF THE FEMALE EMCEE'S? NEW BET DOCUMENTARY EXPLORES... (VIDEO)

1998 was a good year for female emcee's and Vibe magazine validates this with these old school covers from said year. But what has happened to the female emcee in the years following? Where is she today? Sure, there's Nicki Minaj, but she has Li'l Wayne and crew behind her (in other words: she's a developed/manufactured artist pushed by the hottest rapper on deck). She can't be the only female rapper in existence with that "IT" factor. Why is it so hard for female emcee's to get on? Well, the documentary, "My Mic Sounds Nice: The Truth About Women and Hip Hop" premiered on BET last night, and it explores all of these questions and then some, with some of rap's biggest names speaking out on the subject. Interesting stuff for any inquisitive mind. Pop the Trunk to check it out...
