REMEMBERING THE TRAGIC EVENTS OF SEPTEMBER 11, 2001...

Today is the 9 year anniversary of the World Trade Center "bombings" of September 11, 2001 aka "911". Nearly 3,000 lives were lost due to terrorist attacks via jetliners crashing into the Twin Tower buildings-- a now historic site.

The above pic shows two beams of light streaming upward, which represent the demise of the Twin Towers. There is much controversy surrounding said site, as the building of a new Islamic peace center is being planned nearby. From what we've concluded from readings and newscasts, many are against the "mosque" as they feel it is a "slap in the face" to all who have died and suffered because of the 911 tragedy. The accused terrorists are of Muslim faith after all, and the attacks were said to have been done in its name.

What people need to realize is that NO religion or faith is responsible for this tragic event. America is about tolerance and acceptance, and these protests against the proposed Manhattan based Islamic center goes totally against these practices. President Obama spoke about how we are "one nation and one people" in his Presidential Weekly Address. We've never truly been this "one nation one people" in our opinion, but it's things like this that should be bringing us closer to the dream, not pushing us away from it. Check out President Obama's speech for yourself if you missed it. Sending prayers and positive thoughts to Us All! We need it, 'cause ish is f**cked up!

  1. Blaze, you have said it all- This country's core is bassed on freedom of religion and to protest a religious center with rooms for all prayer, be it christian, jewish muslium, whatever is a trumpted up cause. This center has always been in the area- 4 blocks away and has out grown its space as more people wish to use the space- so it needs to expand for the good of the community it serves.
President Obama has told all of us what we all need to hear and it is our responsibilty to up hold these thoughts and values that made out country great- freedom for all of us- if not now- when
