BEN HARPER & LAURA DERN TO DIVORCE + CHRISTINA AGUILARA & COURTNEY COX SEPARATE FROM HUSBANDS... SOMETHING IN THE AIR??

Musician Ben Harper & Actress Laura Dern have supposedly been separated since last New Year's Day, however reports state Laura was "blindsided" by divorce papers this week.

They have reportedly still been living and traveling together all of this year despite the "legal separation". The separation is rumored to have been a way to keep earning and assets separate in 2010 and onward. For The Clueless, Laura Dern hooked up with Billy Bob Thornton while he was married and living with his wife and kids, same with Ben Harper. No reports of an affair on his part have been reported but it seems Karma could be paying her a visit. Regarding reports that Angelina Jolie stole Billy Bob Thornton from Laura while Laura was on location shooting a film, "not true" says Billy Bob. He says they were separated before she left-- FYI. Ben and Laura have 2 children.

Courtney Cox and David Arquette, married 11 years, have announced their separation.

Rumors of Courtney cheating with a co-star on her show "Courgar Town" have been swirling for months but it took pics of David out with rumored rebound new chick Jazmine Walsh to force a formal statement from the couple about their status. "We have agreed to a trial separation that dates back for some time. The reason for this separation is to better understand ourselves and the qualities we need in a partner and for our marriage. We remain best friends and responsible parents to our daughter and we still love each other deeply." Before the announcement, both were spotted without wedding rings: A tell-tale sign a marriage is in trouble. They have one daughter, Coco.

Is it a coincidence that these two couples who have been the best of "Friends" for years are separating around the same time? Hmmm...

Christina Aguilara and her music exec husband Jordan Bratman have announced their separation too, though it's been in effect for a few months already. TMZ suggests it's a 5-year itch, like with Ben and Laura above. They say there are no plans for divorce. They have a 2 year old son, Max.

Our Opinion: Marriage, (and careless procreation) should be banned all together! Jus' sayin!
