EMINEM SHOWS DRAKE WHO'S BOSS...(VIDEO)

Yup, ya boy Em is back and as usual he brought the fiyah by way of his new album "Recovery" which sold a whopping 741,000 units its first week. The numbers put him in the no. 1, dethroning Drake's "Thank Me Later", which debuted selling just under 500,000. And, those who want to cry that Drake's album was leaked before it's official release date, Em's album was also leaked... two weeks before it's launch-- so there. Being King of the Charts is nothing new for Em, "Recovery" is his 6th No. 1 debut in a row. Watch the video for the first single, "Not Afraid" and decide for yourself whether or not the hype is well deserved. We think so! [Bossip]

THE BET AWARDS INVADED L.A. THIS WEEKEND...

The 10th annual BET Awards smashed through L.A. this weekend, and filmed yesterday at the Shrine auditorium. Admittedly, we didn't watch (other thangs to do!) but according to sources it was a hit. Queen Latifah hosted (assisted by her alter-ego Cleo from "Set it Off"), and there were performances galore from Drake, Eminem, Usher and Kanye, to Keisha Cole, Monica, and Nicki Minaj. We heard (Twitter) Chris Brown did the dang thing with his MJ tribute (tears and all... were they for MJ, or his career?), Alicia Keys glowed as she performed her last performance while pregnant, Prince received a lifetime achievement award, and El Debarge made a "comeback performance"?-- for those two alone it's worth a DVR look. Wait, there's more...

DRAKE'S FIRST WEEK SALES ARE IN.... (DRUMROLL)

Drake's first week album sales are in and guess what, Ya'll? 462, 989 SOLD! Yup, that's what "Thank Me Later" pulled in this week. Given that most of the album was leaked prior to its release, the free downloads could very well be why he didn't at least surpass the 500k mark. Still, with the music industry biz in the state that it is, Drake did damn well for himself and we applaud him. *golf clap* [The Rundown]

QUESTLOVE IS VIBE MAG'S LATEST ONLINE COVER STORY, TALKS TURNING 40 IN HIP HOP, WORKING WITH JOHN LEGEND AND THE DRAKE HYPE...

Our favorite drummer (also a producer), Amir "QuestLove" Thompson of the legendary group, The Roots, blesses the newest weekly Vibe Magazine Online cover story (his 6th). Nice! Per the cover type, he's saying "goodbye" to his fro. (sad face) The roots drops their 9th studio album, How I Got Ova. Pop the trunk to read what he has to say about turning 40, and ya boy Drake...

NYPD SHUTS DOWN DRAKE'S FREE CONCERT DUE TO OVERCROWDING AND RIOTING... (VIDEO)

It was going down yesterday at Manhattan's South Street Seaport where Drake and Hanson were set to perform. NYPD had to shut down the free concert when 20,000 fans (twice as many fans as expected) showed up. (We don't think all the fuss was for Hanson either!) Apparently, the venue couldn't handle such a crowd, and when chairs and bottles were being hurled NYPD stepped in and did what they do. Buzz kill!  Watch the insanity above.  [The Fab Life]

LISTEN AS LI'L KIM GOES IN (HARD!) ON NIKKI MINAJ, DIDDY, DRAKE, VOLETTA WALLACE... (AUDIO)

                                   (pic by David Lachapelle)
Wowzers! Nothing to say, but we feel where she's coming from. Especially regarding Diddy. Obviously, he's a user/taker and only loyal to himself and maybe his kids. The audio says it all, so have a listen. Beware, lots of cursing. Pop the Trunk for the audio... Juicyyyy!
